ImageNorwegian Institute of International Affarirs (NUPI), the partner institution of the European Universities Consortium has been identified as one of the 30 most influential think tanks in the world, according to the last global survey report "The Global Go-To Think Tanks. The Leading Public Policy Research Organizations in the World" by James G. McGann from Think Tanks & Civil Societies Program TTCSP.

Last month a few members of the European Universities Consortium, together with a research team from NUPI have applied for a research grant to Polish-Norwegian Research Fund.

Report from the Preliminary Research Seminar in Florence _CMN_PDF_ALT Print _CMN_EMAIL_ALT
ImageProfessors and Scholars of the European Universities Consortium met between December 10th and 13th 2007 in Florence to attend the Preliminary Research Seminar entitled Images and Myths of Europe: the Western and the Eastern Perspectives organised together with the Del Bianco Foundation. The Seminar gave an opportunity to discuss on the political, filosophical and cultural backgrounds of Eastern and Western Europe.


On December 10th 2007 a Roundtable of the European Universities Consortium took place at Florence University. The meeting was attended by representatives of Warsaw School of Social Psychology, Florence University, University College of Southern Stockholm and possible new entrants to the Consortium, namely Paris East Université Marne-la-Vallée represented by prof. Joanna Nowicki, Tischner European University of Krakow represented by prof. Czeslaw Porebski and University of Bucharest represented by prof. George Stoica. The meeting allowed to discuss past projects undertaken by the Consortium and possible future enterprises that would allow the organisation to develop. Moreover, representatives of the new entrants gave short presentations of their faculties and had a chance to receive insight into past and current projects.

As the result of of discussion towards the final conference, there have been created two working groups in which the preparatory work for the Final Conference in April 2008 will be continuing. The two groups will consist of the cultural and political aspects of Western and Eastern Perspectives about the myth of Europe.
