Archbishop Henryk Hoser held lecture at SWPS |

Archbishop Henryk Hoser, Bishop of Warsaw-Praga, held a EUC guest lecture at SWPS Warsaw about the Hutu-Tutsi conflict in Rwanda in March 2009. Hoser served as a missionary as well as a medical doctor in Rwanda for more than 20 years and is therewith an expert in the field. Hoser came to the African country in 1974 and founded a centre for health and community welfare in Kigali four years later. He left the country several months after the start of the genocide which started in 1994.

Prof. Bohdan Michalski represented SWPS Rector Prof. Andrzej Elias at the book presentation "Last day of Bórow" written by Konrad Schuller at the German Ambassadors Residence in Warsaw on 25th November 2009. At the occasion of the "Mittwochsgesellschaft", Stefanie Rau Gerdts, Irina Sayn-Wittgenstein, Włodzimierz Staniewski and Marek Zaliwski invited to "An evening with Konrad Schuller" where the author presented his latest book about life and survival in the Polish village of Bórow during WWII.

Exactly four years ago, on 24th November 2005, the Warsaw School of Social Sciences and Humanities (SWPS) and the University of Florence signed their agreement of collaboration between the two institutions. The two rectors, prof. Andrzej Eliasz (SWPS) and prof. Leonardo Morlino (Florence) as well as their collegues prof. Bohdan Michalski, prof. Jan Strelau (SWPS) and prof. Luciano Segreto (Florence) came together in Warsaw for this act of institutionalizing the mutual cooperation.
